Lake Eyre 2019

About Us
Elaine and I took to travelling in our van in 2019 and found solace in the discovery of the most beautiful and barren places.
We have been lucky enough after really hard work and some risk taking to be able to retire. Not many would retire as we have on limited funds, however our lives have been very saddened by life events and we have learned to make do with less and seize the moment.
Life is a gift that should be lived and not wasted. Our happy place is on the move and close to the sound of the waves on a shore, and so we travel whenever we can to fill our minds with new things and the wonderful distractions that new friendships offer.
After travelling throughout the covid pandemic in 2020, we ended up in lock down with a bunch of families and the more time we spent together the more it felt like one big family. We retain those friendships as we hit the road once more in 2022/2023. We have also celebrated our Daughter Caitlin’s wedding to Luke which was a really wonderful celebration. We look forward to sharing our experiences once more on our roads to recovery. Please subscribe and you will receive updates. For those in S Africa-No cost and no adds. Blog updates might be a week or two in arrears due to lack of comms in the bush areas. If you are viewing it on a mobile phone you will need to select the heading in order to launch a web page which in turn will allow you to view the photos and videos correctly. Thanks
