Day 9 & 10- The Wedding

Left the Greens and headed to Micks to pick up the caravan. Headed west to Stoney Creek which is close to Woodford, where they have the music festival. We found the property, headed onto the farm track and through the gate. At this stage the track consists of two tyre marks through the long grass and about 2 k’s long heading into the hills. Crossed a creek and found the area that was cleared for the wedding. Also found a great spot at the top of a hill to set up camp. People started arriving and the set up began. We caught up with family and had a barbie up at the caravan. Rain was coming and going at this stage so we were dashing under the van awning every 5 minutes. We were however entertained by Mike and Kelsey which was awesome.

Next Day

Wedding day- Hectic things still happening at the venue. Flowers being arranged, Tippe being decorated, grazing plates being prepared etc etc. Time is ticking and the hour is getting close. By now the rain is bucketing down and as each four wheel drive arrives the track becomes more and more like a mud challenge. People were being ferried from the gate to the venue if they didn’t have a four wheel drive. However this is Queensland and most young people do. The venue was looking amazing and Mick was chomping at the bit to get it all under way but still the weather wasn’t playing the game. The go ahead was given and Adele and her maids of honour made their way up from the gate and as they got close the girls climbed out and stood on the running boards of the Troopie. Just then the rain stopped and mostly stayed away throughout the ceremony. I think all of our prayers were answered. What a fabulous wedding with lots of quirky fun. So Mullet Mick and Adele are now MR and Mrs Mullet. Sorry no Bender. Congratulations. The party went on most of the night ending in the early hours of the morning.
