Barcaldine was an interesting little town and birth plan red of the Labor party who have just taken over the government. Not a fan as I have no faith in their leadership capabilities. I fear for the economy as well as our security. Here’s hoping they do it right this time around. Arrived in longreach birthplace of Qantas Airlines. Nice town for a couple of days, desperate for Chefs and general staff. Nice cafe’s and pubs. Camp site very barren but will be nice one day. Because the Rodeo is in town it is fairly busy. We visited the Qantas Museum and also did the Stockmans Museum. That took most part of a day. Went out for a lovely dinner. We wanted to do the Cobb and Co. Stage coach ride but because of the soggy ground from all the rain they are only travelling on sealed and hard roads so wouldn’t be authentic enough. Another day.
