Bulwaddy to Katherine

Set off early and stopped at Daly Waters Pub. We were only about 90km out but it still took us about 1.5 hours. Love the quirkiness of the area and the people, all 15 of them. Ordered brekkie from a foreign backpacker behind the counter who is working her way around oz. Big demand for backpacker labour all across Australia. While we were waiting for our brekkie a horse walked into the bar. The bar lady said, why the long face…..

After brekkie we hit the road and headed to Katherine. Stopped in at Mataranka Hot Springs and had a swim and then on to Katherine. First stop was the post office to pick up a new Lithium Battery for the car fridge. Our AGM battery just wasn’t cutting the mustard anymore. We then booked into a van park that we had stayed at before. It is conveniently situated 50m from the hot springs. While we were setting up our friend Peter and Gabby came for a visit. They were staying at a different park and had been in town for a couple of days. Sunsets in this part of the world are always amazingly blood red highlighting the massive Boab trees. Something I haven’t really mentioned is the temperatures. The days are mostly 35 to 39 deg and the nights around 20 deg with occasional higher temps.
