Gumlu to Hydeaway Bay

We headed out mid morning and made our way to Bowen where we have spent some time in the past. The weather is still fairly ordinary, not cold but overcast with light showers. We had a walk around town and out onto the jetty before heading off to Hydeaway Bay. Of course this is still Sugar Cane and Mango country so there are a few giant mangoes around.

We stayed in a van park almost next door to Malcolms house in Hydeaway Bay. Unfortunately he isn’t home as he is doing some work in Sydney. We had a wonderful few days here discovering the different bays and exploring the resorts of Monte’s and Gloucester Resort. Elaine did some paddle boarding at Dingo beach. We had drinks at the pub there as well as beautiful sunsets on the beach at Montes and Gloucester resorts. We also spent some time sitting on the beach and simply reading. What a treat.
