The road to Rolleston was very bumpy. We also ended up doing a fair bit of dirt road driving. Luckily the road was in very good condition and I didn’t have to air down. Arrived in Rolleston on the day that they were celebrating 25 years of the Wild Horse Cutting Show. We booked into the local caravan park and made our way over to the show grounds. Now you may well ask what the wild horse cutting is. Well that was our first question to the organisers, (not very organised as run by a few farmers). Cowboys and girls drive their horses and seperate a steer from the group and keep them away for a period of time. They try to do this as many times as they can in a further limited time. This sounds simple, but when the cattle are in a small group they refuse to seperate and will make the odd wild dash to get back to the group. Good fun. We ended up watching the kids do the same with sheep. That was really funny. They were on pretend horses.
