Woke up to beautiful weather, packed up and set off to Seventeen Seventy which is so named because Captain Cook landed here in 1770. Elaine took some pics before we left and it didn’t take us long to cover the 112km and arrive at our destination. We had booked this spot a year ago to ensure that we got a beach front site. What a great spot. Spent the first day on the beach and relaxed around the van. Watched the sunset on the beach with some snacks and drinks.
Day 2
This morning Elaine and I went for a walk along the boardwalk to the marina for a coffee and to watch the Amphibian vehicles doing their tourist thing. We then took a drive to Agnes Waters and spent a few hours on the beach. Then off to the local beach cafe for a coffee. Saw a sign on the lawn which read, dog parking. Made our way back to camp and Elaine took out her stand up paddle board. Later I fitted the seat and took it for a paddle. Watched the sunset again as it is really nice. Had a lovely barbie for dinner
Day 3
Took our bikes for a ride into Agnes Waters to have a quick coffee at the beach cafe. The weather was a bit overcast so it wasn’t too hot. Unfortunately the cafe was closed, so back to town for a fairly ordinary coffee. The ride back was a little quicker as it was mostly down hill.
We then took the SUP for a spin before settling in for the evening.
Day4
Went for another bike ride and then had brekkie. Headed out to the lookout to see the bay from above. The wind is quite strong so we will probably go and swim at Agnes waters again. Put the drone up over the ocean and took a few pictures. Spent a few hours on the beach and had a coffee at the beach cafe. Came across a beautifully restored Holden Station Wagon. These old cars seemed so big when we were young, however they are actually very small when compared to new cars.
Back at camp we discovered that the tide had receded a hell of a lot and so we both jumped onto the sup and paddled across the channel to the now exposed sand banks and walked around the area usually covered by water. Saw hundreds of spider crabs but not much else. Another great sunset and barbie.
Day 5
Relaxed around the camp site and local beach. Did some boarding and went to the local pub for a beer. Just a chill day. Braai Broodjies on the barbie.
