Arrived at Cape Jervis later morning and set up in this very basic camp site. We had power and water on a green grassy but sloping spot. All good once set up. Went for a walk to the ferry station which services Kangaroo Island and then walked across to the new light house which is a strange shape but seems to be repeated across south Australia.
We also went for a drive to Morgans Beach and took some pics. Weather not that good at the moment. There is absolutely nothing in town other than a pub and a general store which must only service the people waiting for the ferry to cross to the island.
I also filled a 25L container with water so that we could use it at Rapid Bay as there is no drinking water there. I later discovered that it was all bore water and fairly contaminated with brown particulate which we had poured into our tank at Rapid bay when our water levels dropped. We had also been drinking it over night at Cape Jervis. No illness as yet….
