After a peaceful night at the cidery, we headed off to Albany which is quite a big town. We have spent time here before and we like the town so our plan is to spend up to a week. As always the weather does determine the length of our stays. We like to visit the beaches when the weather is good as it gives us a completely different experience. When the weather is consistently ordinary we prefer to move on.
We found plenty to do and did quite a lot of driving around the area. We came back to a tiny British Pub which was closed last time we were here, in fact we went there twice. Once for a drink and while we were there we booked dinner for a few nights later. We did a lovely walk and found heaps of wild flowers. The walk finished along the beach covered in a thick layer of sea grass.
We did plenty of walking around town visiting all the shops and of course the coffee shops. The one shop we came across was playing loud music on an old valve amp which was fun to see.
We visited the gap with the overhanging viewing platform. We also took pics of the natural bridge.
On one day we went to the ANZAC memorial which is amazing and houses lots of world war two memorabilia and also shows images of where all the troop ships gathered in the bay of Albany before heading to Europe in a convoy. On another day we went to the old Whaling Station where a lot of whales were hunted and processed.
