Got our bikes off the racks so that we can finally do some cycling. Headed out really early for a ride into Hahndorf which was an 18km return journey. Found a lovely coffee shop but not much open that early. It is best to ride early as the temperature ramps up real quick and before we know it it could be 38deg. Hahndorf is a town with a lot of German influence. So German meals, beers and strudels are the go. In the afternoon we drove to Beerenberg Farm where the most amazing bottled goods are made and sold. We love all of their products. Tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, cooking sauces, jams, marinades.. the list is almost endless. We met Tony and Amanda, friends from way back when we lived in South Africa. They live on the Gold Coast in Queensland. They had two friends with them, Rod and Alison, also ex South Africans. The three boys had a walk around town and then went for a beer while the girls had a quick visit to all the local shops and then joined us for drinks. Spent a lovely arvo catching up.
