Slow start today in the Kosciuszko Park as everything was frozen including all our van pipes. Frost everywhere which had us moving in slow motion. After a good breakfast of bacon and eggs we rugged up for a 7km bush walk called the Waterfall Track. Its was fairly tough and a lot of the ground was frozen and really crunchy under foot. The turning point was the waterfall which was flowing nicely. Unfortunately we thought we had taken photos but neither of us did. After a long while we came across a frozen Wallaby sunning itself and it simply did not move. I was fairly shattered when we got back.
After a quick lunch we headed up to Guthega resort. Not much snow about so we took a dirt road across the mountain to Smiggin Holes and still not much snow. Next stop was Perisher Ski Resort which was certainly perfect for some beginner skiing but not yet open until the weekend. Checked out the Ski Tube which is a geared train that runs underground up the mountain when everything is snowed in and ferries people up to the higher resorts. Station is abandoned for another day or two or until the snow starts falling. Then it will be so crowded you can hardly move when the people disembark.
